Lauralynn + Paul | Engagement

One of my favourite parts of a couples wedding package is actually their pre-wedding/engagement shoot. This gives me a chance to get to know them a bit more before the big day, hear about the parts they are excited about, the drama's they hope to avoid! It gives them a chance to see what its like working with me, having their photo taken and that actually, its not nearly as scary/daunting/tense/painful as they remember having professional photos taken when they were children. I don't do uncomfortable posing. I want to tell your story, showing the authentic you, being relaxed and comfortable. Often we go for a walk, have a blether and so many times I've been told that they actually enjoyed it (even if they were slightly terrified of the thought beforehand!)

Lauralynn and Paul asked to bring along the boys to be included in some of their photos, they are such a big part of their lives afterall - and they hoped that it would take some of the lens-time off them too I suspect. We captured images of them all together (some I might have photoshopped the boys out of too ;) ), as well of lots of the happy couple. We went to the stunning Penicuik House for a walk around and to hear all about their planning, adaptations due to the current restrictions, and it also gave the boys a chance to meet me before the wedding itself.

It is crazy that after months of emails and waiting for October to come round, that one week from now I will be sitting here editing away as they begin their lives as Mr + Mrs! So excited for them. Here are a few more of my favourites from our session:
