Orlaith

Updated: Jan 20, 2020

The favourite of all locations with my clients at the moment - I have had 6 back-to-back family sessions at Yellowcraigs. It is one of my personal favourites, plenty of parking, good toilets (always useful when you're outside with littles!). A mixture of woodland, play park, dunes/grasses and of course the beach - something for everyone. It seems to have its own wee micro-climate - and often proves the MetOffice wrong by being brighter and drier than they forecast. There's a lovely route to walk round and incorporate a bit of everything in a good timescale for a family shoot - quick enough to keep little ones engaged and not tire out their wee legs but long enough to ensure that there is a wide range of images to choose from, and for shy little ones to come out of their shell and feel comfortable with the camera. Yet somehow, every single shoot is completely different!

Orlaith enjoyed the beach but LOVED the woodland. She amazed me with her counting skills (still not 2 but counting to 14+!), her repertoire of games and general fun spirit. She played wonderfully, explored all the different textures and colours she could find in the wood and came very well equipped for splashing in the sea in her gorgeous wee red wellies. I had a great time capturing images of Orlaith playing with both of her parents, on her own and also getting the three of them together, in a genuine and relaxed style.

Here are a few of my favourites.....
