My granddad used to joke that he thought 1+1=2 until he started a family....then he quickly realised that it made a whole lot more!
I feel very privileged when I not only get to capture images of a single family unit, but also of the extended family - the grandparents, mums, dads, aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, pets, and so on. It is lovely to have images with everyone in them (rather than the missing relative who is taking the pictures) and a great excuse to update your photos of the various subgroups at the same time.
At this time of year when everything is bursting open, fresh and green everywhere looks beautiful...but I do have a soft spot for bluebell woodlands. the blue carpet, the dappled sunlight, and handy props like logs for sitting on! Add in a family such clear connection that it made my job easy....not to mention oh so more efficient working with adults rather than toddlers!! I met up with the fantastic Evans family in the perfect Bluebell Woodland in Midlothian on a gorgeous afternoon last weekend.
